Batch 3: Ricky & Russell (Triple IPA)
We are very sad to announce that Saison Le Roq, our recipe for a AUS/NZ dry hopped saison, was unable to come to a pint glass near you. However, much like Russell Crowe (aka "Russ La Roq") we can't let this keep us from drinking with our friends.
On one fateful night in May 2014 our Australian muse found himself drinking with non-other than English comedian Ricky Gervais. What followed would be immortalized on Twitter and in tabloids all over the world.
AltBrau, needing to come up with an alternative to our Crowe-inspired beer, decided to honor this evening of drinking with your buds by making a beer that was a little bit English (India Pale Ales originated in the UK), a little bit Australian (Southern Hemisphere hops), and high in alcohol.
The recipe for RICKY & RUSSELL was born. With a grain bill of 2-row pale malt, Maris Otter malt, crystal 20, and oats we are expecting this whopping triple IPA to finish around 11%ABV. We hopped this beast with Australian and New Zealand hops (Galaxy, Summer, Wakatu). We're hoping to have this on tap at Bartlett Hall in 2 weeks.
